ITBS is commonly seen in endurance runners. Pain around the side of the knee and lateral femoral condyle typically occurs during exercise and is relieved during rest. It can be associated with weak core muscles or an abnormal gait. Symptoms can be aggravated when you change your training programme, increase your endurance or change your running shoes.
